Security Officer - Part-Time/ On-Call

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Control access points utilizing advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Respond promptly to emergencies by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and Taser devices when necessary.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy.
• Perform background checks on new personnel or visitors as part of the access verification process to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety for all parties involved.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by monitoring CCTV footage and conducting manual inspections to deter theft or vandalism.

Requirements

• Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and emergency response procedures is required; additional training in Taser use and firearm handling is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control management.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or incident management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive incident reports clearly and accurately.
• Demonstrated conflict management skills with a focus on de-escalation techniques in high-pressure situations.
• Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods; capable of performing heavy lifting safely when required.
• Knowledge of compliance with security regulations and procedures to ensure operational integrity at all times.
