About the Opportunity
The Reliability Engineering Manager will lead a team of reliability engineers focused on maximizing equipment uptime, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and reducing maintenance costs through data-driven reliability initiatives. Reporting directly to the Plant Engineering Manager, this leader will collaborate closely with Maintenance, Utilities, Wastewater, Operations, and Engineering teams to develop and execute plant-wide reliability strategies while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and OSHA standards.
This role offers the opportunity to influence both plant-level and company-wide continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring technical teams and helping shape the future of reliability engineering across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of reliability engineers.
- Design and implement reliability improvement programs that increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and reliability-centered methodologies.
- Conduct root cause analyses and failure investigations to identify long-term solutions to equipment reliability issues.
- Partner with maintenance leadership to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Manage reliability improvement projects from concept through implementation and long-term sustainability.
- Develop and monitor equipment reliability metrics and KPIs to measure performance improvements.
- Provide technical leadership and support for maintenance and operations teams.
- Develop training programs and technical development plans for engineering and maintenance personnel.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in reliability engineering and industrial maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Reliability Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in reliability engineering, industrial maintenance, and project engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing engineering, maintenance, or reliability teams.
- Experience with industrial controls programming, preferably Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.
- Strong project management experience with a proven ability to deliver measurable operational improvements.
