Capstone Multifamily Group is a multifamily property management company with apartment communities across multiple states (NC, SC, TN, & GA). Our Human Resources Department supports employees, managers, and property teams in areas including hiring, onboarding, payroll support, benefits, safety training, compliance, employee documentation, and policy follow-up.
Prior HR experience and the ability to stay organized, follow up consistently, and maintain accurate records are important for this position. Experience supporting employees in multiple locations or working with multi-state HR processes is a plus.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. This position reports to the HR Administrator and assists with employee communication, HR documentation, training tracking, hiring/onboarding support, payroll preparation support, benefits reminders, and general HR compliance.
Prior HR, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee records, or related administrative experience is required
Responsibilities
- Send routine HR reminders, including performance reviews, 401(k), insurance, safety training, required documents, and policy acknowledgments
- Track employee safety training and follow up on incomplete items
- Maintain employee files, HR records, badges, and related documentation
- Prepare and mail birthday cards and assist with birthday/work anniversary postings
- Communicate with employees regarding basic HR questions, forms, deadlines, and routine matters
- Escalate complex HR matters to the HR Administrator
- Assist with hiring and onboarding, including job postings, resume review, interview scheduling, and new hire documentation
- Assist with reviewing and correcting employee timesheets for payroll submission as assigned
- Assist with policy compliance, safety follow-up, documentation, and other HR tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior related HR, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee records, or administrative experience required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and follow up consistently
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, applicant tracking, benefits, or employee record systems preferred
- Experience with systems such as Proliant, Empower, Flores, or similar HR, payroll, benefits, or retirement platforms is a plus
- Multi-state HR or property management experience is a plus
Schedule
Full-time or part-time candidates will be considered.
- Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Part-time schedule may vary based on department needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay scale is based on experience.
Benefits are available to full-time employees following a 90-day probationary period:

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
