Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION PURPOSE |
Responsible for developing and supervising an effective team of maintenance technicians to safely deliver tails & water equipment uptime and performance targets at the Pinto Valley Mine Site. This professional plays a key role in executing maintenance plans, managing breakdowns and performing service requests, as well as conducting field coordination with specialized contractors. This position works closely with the maintenance, operations, supply chain and technical service teams at Pinto Valley as well as with external suppliers, contractors and consultants to optimize and standardize practices, enhance safety, reduce waste in maintenance and operational activities and provide effective solutions to diverse customers within the mine site. |

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES |
As an employee of the Capstone Copper Maintenance Department your key responsibilities are aligned with the Capstone Copper Asset Management Framework (AMF) Elements. You will be required to develop a clear understanding of the Capstone Copper AMF Standards relevant to your role and ensure they are applied within your area of responsibility. - Monitor that all employees and contractors are certified to perform their activities and in compliance with local, state, federal and company standards and operating procedures – AM01

- Provide leadership, expertise and guidance to all T&W maintenance and operational activities scheduled and unscheduled – AM01

- Execute maintenance and operational work plans according to schedules released weekly by planning, and allocate resources according to plan requirements – AM11
- Manage breakdowns and emergency work by troubleshooting issue, assessing risk and allocating labor and resources to resolve the issue in a safe and timely manner – AM11
- Make sure that the T&W team is properly represented in coordination meetings to elaborate plans and shutdowns – AM12
- Work with supply chain to verify parts, consumables and critical spares – AM06
- Report periodically T&W team performance to identify deviations and monitor improvement action items – AM08

- Coordinate, organize and support deployment of contractors and external support for T&W maintenance and operational activities – AM11

- Evaluate economically and strategically the different functions within the maintenance team to propose either function insourced or outsourced – AM11

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (Required, Preferred) | REQUIRED PREFERRED - · Certificate in mechanical or electrical disciplines

YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (Required, Preferred) | REQUIRED - 5 years of experience in a mining operational facility
PREFERRED - 5 years of experience in a mining, fixed plant focused operational facility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA): | TECHNICAL SKILLS - Understanding of safety protocols and practices in a mining processing plant or open pit mine environment
- Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, performance evaluation and contractor management
- Basic principles and practices of budget preparation, monitoring and administration
- Capability to read and understand construction drawings, P&ID, work plans and equipment specifications
- Basic understanding of work management process in ERP’s
- Basic understanding of maintenance methodologies to reduce waste and inefficiencies
- Basic understanding of tailings management systems, slurry pumping, water reclaim systems, and pipeline operations.
- Valid US driver’s license (must obtain AZ driver’s license)
- Able to speak, comprehend, and write in English
