Location: Remote

Duration: Contract to Hire

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Wage: Up to $75 an hour/ $135K with yearly bonus

Capstone IT is working with a client ranked by Forbes as a “Best Place to Work” to bring on an AWS Cloud Engineer. This is a collaborative and cloud-forward team. This role focuses on designing, building, and scaling secure and reliable AWS-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to streamline cloud delivery using modern orchestration tools and best practices. The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering background, hands-on coding experience, and a collaborative mindset to solve complex cloud infrastructure challenges.

1. AWS Cloud Engineering Experience
2. Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation – TypeScript preferred)
3. Containerization and Orchestration (Docker, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes)
4. Hands-on Development Experience (5 years with object-oriented languages, TypeScript)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation.
• Collaborate across teams to enable cloud adoption and delivery.
• Configure and maintain cloud services and shared libraries.
• Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and support developer enablement.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation in cloud operations.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of development experience with object-oriented languages-Typescript
• Deep knowledge of AWS services and cloud environments.
• IaC experience using AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Fargate.
• Familiarity with databases like Postgres, RDS Aurora, MongoDB.
• Experience with GitHub/GitHub Actions and source control.
• Understanding of cloud security and compliance practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• U.S.-based with ability to work remotely.
