Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the development, governance, and continuous improvement of maintenance and asset management plans for assigned mobile or fixed plant equipment fleets. This role supports safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance execution by developing detailed maintenance plans, coordinating scheduling activities, and ensuring alignment with operational and asset management objectives.
The position works closely with operations, maintenance, supply chain, contractors, and reliability teams to support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies. The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for maintaining accurate work management data within SAP S/4HANA and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and overall operational performance.

The Purchasing Specialist will procure and expedite services and products. He/she will assist in the selection of new vendors. Works closely with other departments to understand requirements and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Position Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
- Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all purchasing activities using defined standards.
- Collate and analyze report data to help track targets and team performance.
- Oversee quality assessment – handle issues from vendors and internal clients, intercompany transactions, payment status and billing.
- Manage end to end supplier activities.
- Provide day to day direction to the team to ensure delivery against plan.
- Guide and coach team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Knowledge
- Detailed oriented with a team player mentality
- Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills to include confidential information
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office) with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Quadram or Ariba experience a plus. SAP Experience a plus
- Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred. Minimum 2 years purchasing experience.
- Purchasing experience in the mining industry or other industrial environments
- Certifications or education specific to Purchasing
