Investment Research Analyst

How you will spend your time:

The Investment Research Analyst will support a broad range of investment activities, including pipeline development, fund manager and co-investment due diligence, and post-investment monitoring. This role will contribute to the firm’s overall investment strategy, with a portion of time dedicated to impact investing. The Analyst will work across all phases of the investment process, under the guidance of the Chief Investment Officer, Director of Impact Investing, and other senior members of the investment team.

• Contribute to the development and management of the Investment Team’s investment pipeline, including initial fund screenings and ongoing tracking.
• Support due diligence on private funds and co-investments across asset classes, including real assets, private equity, venture capital, and private debt.
• Assist in preparing and distributing internal and client-facing materials that clearly articulate the risks and merits of investment opportunities, including due diligence packets for the Investment Committee and investment briefs for clients.
• Oversee post-investment monitoring of funds and co-investments, including leading quarterly manager calls, synthesizing key takeaways, and participating in annual meetings.
• Support the monitoring of Caprock’s internal impact fund, including asset allocation oversight, preparation of quarterly reports, and cash management.
• Partner with BlueMark, an independent impact verification provider, to support Caprock’s impact reporting processes.
• Participate in client and prospect meetings as appropriate to discuss impact investments and market trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Investment Officer, Director of Impact Investing, and other team members as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in private markets investing and/or within a multi-family office, single-family office, RIA, endowment, foundation, or institutional investment setting preferred.
• Interest in and/or experience with impact investing, sustainable finance, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and finance-related tools such as CRMs and investment databases.
• Series 65 (or willingness to obtain) or comparable industry certification.
