What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Coordinator, Store Development position at Capri Holdings Limited?
Who You Are:
The Finance Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Store Development by ensuring disciplined financial execution, sound controls, and accurate reporting across capital and expense projects. This role requires a high degree of ownership, attention to detail, and cross-functional partnership to support business objectives while maintaining financial integrity and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
Financial Ownership & Accountability
- Take ownership of project-level accounting activities, including validating invoice accuracy (billing details, contract compliance, and approved funding).
- Accurately code invoices to CapEx or expense categories and ensure timely routing for approval in accordance with Capri policies.
- Submit approved invoices to Domestic and International partners, ensuring prompt and accurate payment execution.
- Maintain accurate and current project budgets by updating templates with general ledger data and approved changes.
Operational Excellence & Controls
- Partner closely with Corporate Finance to ensure Capital Request Forms (CRFs) are prepared, submitted, and approved in compliance with capitalization and governance requirements.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities by working collaboratively with Accounts Payable and Accounting.
- Review and reconcile Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounts in partnership with the Michael Kors Fixed Assets Accountant, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
Collaboration & Relationship Management
- Build effective working relationships with Store Design, Construction, Visual Merchandising, Facilities, and external vendors, demonstrating strong collaboration and business partnership.
- Monitor open invoice statements, investigate variances, and resolve issues to support timely payments and positive vendor relationships.
- Coordinate the collection of complete Tenant Allowance documentation from general contractors, vendors, and consultants and submit accurate packages to Retail Finance.
Continuous Improvement & Data Management
- Manage and maintain the master project budget template, enhancing formulas, structure, and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial files in line with internal controls and retention standards.
- Demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting quality.
You’ll Need to Have:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a finance, accounting, or project support role.
- Strong Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, lookups (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), and advanced formulas to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience with Coupa and/or Procore is a plus.
