Summary

The MCC reports directly to the Memory Care Manager or Executive Director.
Essential Responsibilities
- Incorporate Capri Blu Grotto policies, program and systems within the neighborhood
- Work with the Blu Grotto care staff for Blu Grotto policies and system compliance
- Work with managers to ensure programs are provided to create a positive and memorable resident experience
- Direct issues and concerns to the Memory Care Manager, nurse or ED
- Support team members to inspire compassionate performance and positive relationships with residents and families
- Model resident engagement and proper technique of approach when in the neighborhoods
- Provide guidance and support to caregivers regarding program delivery as they are assigned
- Assist to coordinate and deliver care team continuing education regarding Dementia Support
- Work closely with the Memory Care Manager and participate in scheduled Blu Grotto meetings when assigned
- Connect with residents in a genuine, compassionate and memorable way
- Observe and note resident's ability and make program recommendations which support the resident's highest level of function
- Discuss pertinent assessment information, changes or additions with the MCM or nurse so he/she can make the necessary changes in the ISP and/or assessment
- Obtain new resident's life story then develop and implement the resident's move-in plan
- Work with the resident, MCM or nurse, family and team members to develop and implement designed behavior/emotional well-being service plan strategies
- Attend Blu Grotto service plan meetings for neighborhood residents
- Be attentive to resident's overall well-being and make recommendations for adjustments
- Work with management to purchase supplies and equipment
- Develop Blu Grotto program calendar for 7 days a week delivery including evenings
- Work closely with the Memory Care Manager or Lifestyle Enrichment designee to coordinate special events, entertainers and outings
- Coordinate meaningful, ability based, equal opportunity outings for the residents of Blu Grotto
- Passion for working with individuals with dementia

- Ability to deal tactfully and cheerfully with care staff, residents and family members
- Possesses good interpersonal organizational and communication skills
- Must possess the ability to plan, develop, organize and implement programs
- Ability to handle several tasks and respond effectively to unexpected changes
- Completion of or willingness to complete memory care courses as well as on-going education
- Preferred minimum of 1-year experience in delivering leisure and recreational programs
- Preferred minimum of 2-years' experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of dementia
