KC Services is looking for a Commercial Service Handyman to join our growing team!

KC Services is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, but our work extends throughout the greater Midwest. We have technicians located throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Louisville, and the edge of Michigan, allowing us to serve commercial customers across a broad regional footprint.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled, and versatile technician who is comfortable handling a variety of commercial maintenance and repair needs.

Pay: 25–40 per hour

Pay is based on skill set, experience, technical ability, and qualifications.

Position Overview

As a Commercial Service Handyman with KC Services, you will perform a variety of commercial repair, maintenance, and service tasks for our customers.

The ideal candidate is a jack-of-all-trades with strong mechanical ability, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the confidence to handle different types of service calls.

You should be comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems, communicating with customers, and completing quality work in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general commercial building repairs and maintenance.

Respond to commercial service calls and troubleshoot customer issues.

Perform drywall repairs, patching, painting, and finishing work.

Repair and replace doors, door hardware, locks, hinges, and related components.

Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.

Repair or replace faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, and other plumbing fixtures.

Perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting within the scope of your qualifications.

Replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other components as permitted.

Perform ceiling tile and grid repairs.

Repair walls, floors, cabinets, shelving, and other building components.

Perform minor carpentry and woodworking repairs.

Install and repair commercial fixtures, equipment, and hardware.

Troubleshoot mechanical and building-related issues.

Perform preventive maintenance and general facility maintenance.

Assemble, install, adjust, and repair various equipment and components.

Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, meters, and other service equipment.

Identify problems and determine the appropriate repair or maintenance solution.

Communicate professionally with customers and facility personnel.

Maintain accurate service tickets, work orders, and documentation.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Follow all applicable safety requirements, company policies, and local codes.

Represent KC Services professionally at every customer location.

Participate in an on-call/emergency service rotation as required.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can do a little bit of everything and enjoys solving problems.

Required

Previous commercial maintenance, handyman, facilities, construction, or service experience preferred.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

General knowledge of building maintenance and repair.

Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.

Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Professional communication and customer-service skills.

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Ability to safely lift equipment and materials.

Ability to work in a variety of commercial environments, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, warehouses, offices, and other facilities.

KC Services values practical experience and technical ability. Compensation will be based on your actual skill set, experience, certifications, and ability to handle commercial service work independently.
