Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
• Placing fillings.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as taking intra-oral scans and fabricating crowns.
• Manage infection control protocols, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Utilize dental software systems for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
• Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Operate 3D scanners for imaging when required.

Skills

• Placing fillings, making temporary crowns, placing retraction cord, intra-oral scanning, x-ray certification, BLS certification, coronal polishing a plus.
• Proficient in dental assisting techniques with a strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with dental coding to assist in billing processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to better assist in procedures.
• Experience with medical imaging technologies is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
