Position Summary

CT TRP seeks instructors for the Connecticut Teacher Residency Program (TRP) in multiple locations. CT TRP is designed to attract candidates who embrace the potential to work well with diverse students in elementary, comprehensive special education, and middle grades math, and to minimize barriers to traditional certification program admissions. The program markets to aspiring diverse teachers who work and live in partner district communities, holding bachelor's degrees, who did not pursue education certification during their undergraduate studies. Program participants will engage in a combination of coursework and classroom experiences under the guidance of a mentor teacher while taking classes and certification examinations. The residency experience lasts a full school year and guides successful candidates to job opportunities in the partner district.

A critical part of this program design is the implementation of courses that will provide aspiring teachers with the skills, content, and pedagogy they will need to be successful teachers in Connecticut schools.
