Part-Time Digital Media & Production Assistant

Capitol Productions TV | Leesburg, Virginia

Approximately 20 hours/week | Starting at $20/hour
Equine Sports Medicine • Video Production • Live Streaming • Podcasting
Paid domestic & international travel opportunities

Capitol Productions TV is looking for a motivated and creative Part-Time Digital Media & Production Assistant to join our team at our studio in Leesburg, Virginia.

This is a unique opportunity for an entry-level or early-career media professional to build hands-on production experience while working extensively in the world of equine sports medicine, veterinary education, and professional continuing education.

A significant portion of this position supports the educational and media activities of a leading equine sports medicine association. You’ll help create professional content featuring equine veterinarians, sports medicine specialists, researchers, educators, and other industry experts.

Projects range from educational videos and interviews to podcasts, live-streamed programs, conferences, and special events in the United States and internationally.

You don’t need a background in veterinary medicine or horses. We’re looking for someone with a foundation in media production who is curious, dependable, technically minded, and excited about learning both the production side and the fascinating subject matter behind it.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work alongside our production team on projects including:

• Editing video using Avid Media Composer
• Working with Adobe Creative Cloud
• Editing veterinary education, sports medicine, interview, promotional, podcast, and social media content
• Assisting with live-streamed educational programs and multi-camera productions
• Setting up cameras, audio, lighting, and streaming equipment
• Helping produce and edit a monthly podcast featuring equine veterinary and industry topics
• Creating short-form video and promotional content for digital and social platforms
• Organizing and managing video, audio, and other digital media assets
• Supporting the production of veterinary conferences, educational programs, interviews, and special events
• Working with veterinarians, educators, speakers, and other subject-matter experts
• Traveling with our production team for selected domestic and international conferences and events

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is creative, dependable, organized, technically curious, and eager to learn.

A good candidate will have some experience or familiarity with:

• Video editing, preferably Avid Media Composer
• Adobe Creative Cloud
• Cameras, audio, lighting, or general video production
• Computers and digital media workflows
• Creating content for digital or social platforms

Experience with live streaming, podcasting, photography, videography, motion graphics, or social media content is a plus.

Interest in Equine Sports Medicine

You do not need previous equine or veterinary experience to apply.

However, this position will be especially rewarding for someone interested in horses, equine athletics, veterinary medicine, sports medicine, science, or educational media.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the equine sports medicine field while working directly with content created by veterinarians and other experts. Over time, you’ll become familiar with the people, terminology, topics, and educational programs that make up this specialized area of veterinary medicine.

For someone who combines an interest in media production with horses, veterinary medicine, or sports, this could be an especially unusual opportunity.

Schedule & Travel

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours.

The position is primarily based at our Leesburg, Virginia studio, so applicants should be able to work on-site.

Some productions and events require evening or weekend work.

The position also includes opportunities for domestic and international travel to conferences, educational programs, and other productions. Additional compensation is provided during required travel. Candidates should be willing and able to travel and have a valid passport.

Why Join Us?

This isn’t a position where you’ll spend all of your time doing one small part of the production process.

You’ll have opportunities to gain hands-on experience across:

Video Editing • Equine Sports Medicine • Veterinary Education • Live Production • Live Streaming • Podcasting • Cameras & Audio • Digital & Social Media • Conferences & Events • Domestic & International Productions

You’ll build practical production skills while helping communicate educational and scientific information to professionals in a highly specialized field.

If you’re looking for a position where you can learn, create, travel, and build a strong foundation in professional media production, we’d like to hear from you.

To apply: Send us your résumé and, if available, links to a portfolio, demo reel, videos, photography, social media work, or other examples of your creative work.

We look forward to hearing from you!
