Company Description CAPITOL INFECTIOUS DISEASE ASSOCIATES is a specialized medical practice with two outpatient clinics located in East Lansing and Battle Creek, Michigan. The practice focuses on providing comprehensive infectious disease care to diverse patient populations in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. Clinicians from the group round at multiple healthcare facilities, including McLaren Greater Lansing, Bronson in Battle Creek, Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek and Grand Rapids, and Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. Team members collaborate closely with hospital staff and referring providers to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. The practice offers opportunities to work within a variety of clinical environments and participate in coordinated infectious disease management.
Role Description This part-time Advanced Practice Provider role is an on-site position based in East Lansing, MI. The Advanced Practice Provider will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with infectious diseases in the outpatient clinic, including performing focused histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans under the supervision of physicians. Daily responsibilities include providing follow-up care, monitoring therapeutic responses, adjusting treatment regimens, and documenting encounters in the medical record in accordance with regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients seen in affiliated hospitals and facilities, as well as providing patient and family education on infection prevention, treatment adherence, and follow-up needs. The Advanced Practice Provider may participate in case discussions, quality initiatives, and protocol development related to infectious disease management.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated clinical expertise in Medicine and Primary Care to manage a broad range of infectious disease presentations.
• Experience or training in Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine to support evaluation and management of acutely ill patients when needed.
• Licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (or comparable Advanced Practice Provider), with strong skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Michigan and appropriate national board certification (e.g., NP certification in Adult-Gerontology, Family, or Acute Care).
• Strong knowledge of antimicrobial therapy, infection prevention, and evidence-based guidelines for infectious disease care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and provide clear patient education.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, professional ethics, and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge through continuing education.
• Prior experience in infectious disease, hospital medicine, or related specialties is preferred but not required.
