Job Description: Role This position is responsible for management of the Banking Services department.. Implements, designs and maintains processes and procedures related to customer correspondence for deposit account transactions, customer information management, deposit account interest rate maintenance, various deposit account file maintenance, back-office consumer lending, consumer account collections, and legal notice such as levies, garnishments, subpoenas and tax warrants. Uses a risk-based approach to monitor and review department work. The Banking Services Manager must possess the ability to conduct complex technical analysis of systems to identify process improvement and customer service issue resolution. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Team leadership and supervision: Manage and develop Banking Services department to fully implement associated processes. Maintain a supportive, trusting culture within the team and cross-functionally while ensuring issues are promptly and professionally addressed. Facilitates continued support for the team culture and Bank’s values. Manage direct reports. Includes: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Ensures department output meets the Bank’s quality and compliance standards by performing risk-based reviews and approvals. Maintains department training, reference material, procedures and recovery plans. Cross functional Collaboration: Work with other departments such as Customer Experience, Operations teams and IT to align with other relevant Bank functions and regulatory expectations. Operational Oversight: Oversee the execution of departmental processes while considering the overall customer experience. Monitors and delivers reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for areas of responsibility. Provides inputs to the Deposit Services Manager for strategic planning to address identified needs both at the department and individual level. Make recommendations to management to develop processes for implementing departmental changes to support goals. Assist in the development of proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Ensures all department goals are met through planning, workload management and task tracking. Provides excellent customer service to the Bank’s customers. Prepare, review and approve various reports related to areas of responsibility for management. Perform other duties as assigned. Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Experience Requires three years of related banking experience, and one year of supervisory or management experience. Education/Certifications/Licenses A high school degree or equivalent. College degree preferred. Skills Advanced Excel familiarity. An advanced understanding of software integration and system testing methodologies. If not already held, ability to develop subject matter expertise for systems utilized in the position. Familiar with laws, regulations and internal operating policies and procedures governing FDIC-insured financial institutions, deposit accounts, Bank Secrecy Act and checking accounts; and working knowledge of Bank information systems. Has a good understanding of B-Notice and C-Notice backup withholding. Assists branch personnel in responding to backup withholding inquiries. Requires demonstrated ability to interface with internal and external contacts through excellent written and verbal communications skills. CapFed® is an equal opportunity employer.
