Job Responsibilities: The Food Plant Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for the hands-on management of the Food Plant Supply Chain employees in a food manufacturing environment. Prioritizes personal safety and quality products. Plans, assigns, and directs production employees to ensure maximum efficiency.

  • Supervise daily area / department activities.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Manage allocated labor to maximize productivity.
  • Schedule and control employees to meet labor productivity and overtime KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Create new supply chain control policies and procedures when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, USDA/FDA, HACCP, and other regulations.
  • Review supplier invoices for accuracy.
  • Evaluate inventory needs and implement strategies to meet those needs.
  • Create and maintain the Production Schedule.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure material ordering is timely and appropriate.
  • Supervise and coordinate the taking of periodic physical inventories.
  • Participate in end of month inventory process.
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
  • Manages the inventory in the ERP system.
  • Run reports and mass balance exercises to prove traceability of materials.
  • Prepare reports on inventory balance and shortages, as required.
  • Receive inventory shipments and inspect for quantity and quality.
  • Support the Operations team to ensure on-time and accurate production.
  • Manage material waste on the floor level.
  • Track product usage, waste, and yield in relation to requisition requirements.
  • Maintain production records and KPI communication boards.


Working Conditions: Mainly office setting with occasional general physical movements such as walking, standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Environmental conditions include cold, wet, allergen, noise, and fumes / chemical / odor exposure from raw materials and sanitation chemicals.


Schedule: Monday through Friday, occasional weekends


Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent working knowledge required.
  • 1 years of related work experience in a supervisory role required.
  • Experience with ERP inventory management required, Aptean experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve budget.
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to details.
  • Ability to complete HACCP certification, Allergen Control training, Food Recall training, Continuous Improvement (CI) Principles.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Understanding of FDA / USDA regulated industry.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to become forklift certified within the first 3 months required.
