Job Description:
Capitol Construction is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating heavy equipment, particularly Dozers and Excavators with GPS capabilities, and will demonstrate a commitment to safety and efficiency in all operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must be proficient in Dozers and Excavators with GPS
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
- Perform various tasks including road work, excavation work, lifting operations, etc.
- Respond to signals and directions from staff and work in coordination with them to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working to minimize disruptions to normal activities.
- Operate equipment manually as well as through the use of electronic or technical methods.
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers as needed.
- Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained, clean, and stored in a safe manner.
- Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse in accordance with company procedures.
- Document regular maintenance checks to maintain adequate records of equipment performance.
- Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly.
- Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures.
- Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration.
