Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help inspire young children’s growth, learning, and social-emotional development while building strong partnerships with families.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that promote early childhood development and learning through play
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure their safety at all times
- Support children with their individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and daily experiences
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures and mandated reporting laws
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, behavior management, and classroom management techniques
Qualifications
- CDA Credential preferred
- Experience working with young children in an early care and education setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Pediatric First Aid preferred)
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills for parent engagement and teamwork
- Ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a positive attitude
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners
