Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and strategic Early Childhood Assistant Director to join our passionate team. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to influence early childhood education by overseeing daily operations, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and fostering a vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate will bring strong management skills, a deep understanding of childhood development, and a commitment to excellence in early education.

Duties

  • Assist the Executive Director in managing daily center operations, including staff supervision and program implementation
  • Lead curriculum development efforts aligned with best practices in early childhood education and childhood development standards
  • Facilitate professional development sessions for staff to enhance instructional leadership and classroom quality
  • Oversee school administrative functions such as record-keeping, and compliance with educational regulations and legal requirements
  • Support fundraising initiatives and strategic planning efforts to promote center growth and sustainability
  • Supervise school staff, including teachers and support personnel, ensuring high standards of performance and personnel management
  • Ensure adherence to special education law and other regulatory guidelines affecting early childhood programs

Experience

  • Proven experience in administrative leadership within early childhood settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and educational compliance
  • Experience facilitating professional development for educators and supervising staff
  • Knowledge of CT childcare licensing requirements and NAEYC standards related to early childhood education, including special education and childhood development standards
  • Previous classroom teaching experience with young children is highly desirable
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff, families, and community partners
  • Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred; or, minimum of an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education with 2 or more year's experience

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
