What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at Capitol Care South?
Capitol Care, Inc, is looking for a GROUP FACILITATOR to run therapeutic and dynamic groups for our mental health service recipients. Candidate must be able to plan, create and facilitate group activities in a variety of subjects, counsel and aid our individuals towards achieving their short term and long term goals and community integration. Being organized, self motivated, positive, creative, energetic and 'out of the box' thinker are necessary qualities for the group facilitator.
Requirements :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be 18 years or older and be able to pass a criminal background check. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be able to successfully complete required training which includes American Red Cross First Aid/CPR and Crisis Management. Need to pass a pre-employment physical and a TB test prior to working and yearly thereafter. Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in psychosocial rehabilitation or mental health services, or related life or work experience, such as assuming leadership roles during participation in mental health services or mental health consumer initiatives, or possess one of the following credentials: Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner or Community Mental Health Associate.

Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Partial List of Duties:
- Will complete all documentation and have the ability to clearly and thoroughly document observations of individual behaviors and responses to specific interventions
- Demonstrates an understanding of licensing standards and how they relate to one’s position
- Ability to assess an individual’s status including progress towards goals as well as identifying areas that need improvement.
- Attends work consistently as scheduled and is punctual
- Preparation of groups on a daily basis
- To encourage and engage members in the group process
- To address and acknowledge group member's behaviors
- Enforce the program rules in and outside of the group room
- Be able to clarify and summarize group member's statements
- Impart information to the group when necessary
- To have knowledge of outside services and be able to communicate with the group members
- To model effective group leader behavior
- To engage in appropriate self-disclosure that will only enhance group member's experience
- Give and receive feedback in the group
- To have an understanding of open and closed questions and to be able to utilize these in the group process
- To empathize with the group members and to help other group members empathize
- Help member attribute meaning to their experience
- Help group member apply and integrate learning
- To be able to identify when a group member is having an increase in symptoms and to intervene clinically or and/or physically as necessary during all crisis situations regardless of the program track they are on.
