Position: Maintenance Worker
Location: Stanhope, NJ
Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:00pm (Full Time)
Rate: $21.64/hr
Eligible employees may participate in the health insurance plan subject to all terms and conditions of the agreement between Capitol Care and the insurance carrier. Health insurance is offered to eligible employees and will be effective on their ninetieth day of employment. Dental and Vision benefits are offered after the eligible employee's sixth month of employment.
Upon initial eligibility (complete their initial 90 days of employment), non-exempt regular full-time employees are eligible to accrue 3.08 hours of vacation time after completion of of 80 hours of work (or 2x weekly standard work week).
Eligible employees who are employed by the Agency on January 1 of each year shall have 40 hours of paid sick time available (after 90 days of total employment) for use throughout the benefit year. Employees hired after January 1 shall accrue paid sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours worked, up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per year, which paid sick leave they are eligible to use after 90 days of employment.
Capitol Care provides Life Insurance to full-time employees that attain three years of continuous service (40 hours or more per week).
Job Description: Responsibilities and Essential Duties including but not limited to the following as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisory staff:
- Keep facilities in clean and orderly condition.
- Organize custodial closets and work spaces.
- Maintain working condition of all company assigned equipment, including vehicles.
- Maintain exterior of building to include but not limited to grass cutting, weeding, cleanups, trimming, mulching and planting, gutter cleaning, power washing, and painting.
- Must be able to operate and have knowledge of all mowers and equipment.
- Maintaining internal areas of facilities, including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, window washing, sweeping, mopping, painting, sheet rock and spackle.
- Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for pickup.
- Facility repairs as assigned by Supervisor, through work order program, verbally, or written.
- Assists with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
- Must be able to operate snow plows on Agency vehicles.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and training as required.
- Monitor own time card to ensure correct recording of hours worked, and use of benefit time.
- Adhere to all Agency policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all confidentiality policies, practices, and laws.
- Report all incidents, including allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, injury and other reportable incidents immediately upon discovery.
- Cooperate fully with investigative processes, and provide complete and accurate information.
- Keep all information discussed in investigations confidential.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- 1 year of relevant experience
Requirements:
- 18 years or older.
- Pass a federal/state background check and motor vehicle background check.
- Valid non-probationary(provisional) driver’s license.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical exams, and TB test prior to working.
- Successful completion of mandatory Orientation; including American Red Cross First Aid/CPR, Preventing Abuse and Neglect, Crisis Management and more.
