We are looking for an experienced ERRCS/BDA Lead Installer who can run jobs in the field, lead crews, and install systems the right way—clean, code-compliant, and inspection-ready.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on field role. The ERRCS/BDA Lead Installer is responsible for installing and assisting testing / commissioning ERRCS/BDA systems while leading a small crew on site. This role is ideal for a strong installer who knows ERRCS/BDA systems and can take ownership of a project in the field.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Hands-On Installation
- Install complete ERRCS/BDA systems including:
- Donor and server antennas
- Coax and fiber cabling
- DAS components, splitters, couplers, and terminations
- BDAs, power supplies, batteries, and enclosures
- Grounding and bonding per code
- Pull, route, label, and terminate cable cleanly and professionally.
- Read and build from approved drawings and layouts.
Lead the Job in the Field
- Run day-to-day jobsite activities.
- Lead and work alongside install crews.
- Assign daily tasks and keep production moving.
- Make real-time decisions to keep jobs on track.
Testing & Turn-Up
- Assist with and perform system testing, tuning, and optimization.
- Support grid testing and signal strength verification.
- Work through punch lists and prepare systems for AHJ acceptance.
Code & Quality
- Install systems to meet NFPA, IFC, IBC, and local jurisdiction requirements (including IFC 510 / NFPA 1221).
- Ensure workmanship is clean, labeled, grounded, and inspection-ready.
- Catch issues early and fix them before inspections.
Coordination
- Communicate with project managers and engineers about field conditions, material needs, and schedule impacts.
- Work directly with GCs, inspectors, and fire marshals when needed.
Safety
- Follow and enforce jobsite safety practices.
- Safely operate ladders, lifts, and rooftop equipment.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience
- 2 years of hands-on ERRCS/BDA, DAS, or similar low-voltage RF system installation.
- Experience as a lead tech or foreman strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- RF signal flow and coverage basics
- Coax installation and termination
- Grounding and bonding requirements
- Power and battery backup systems
- Comfortable working in telecom rooms, ceilings, rooftops, and shafts.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- NICET Fire Alarm Level I or higher
- Manufacturer or RF/DAS training
Work Ethic & Leadership
- Takes ownership of jobs and quality of work.
- Leads by example and works alongside the crew.
- Can troubleshoot problems without needing constant direction.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights, on lifts, ladders, and rooftops.
- Willing to travel locally to job sites.
