Senior Manager - Business Development, External Partnerships (Hybrid) It’s an exciting time for external partnerships within the Mainstreet Product & Experiences (MSPX) organization, as we’re actively expanding the ways in which we grow our business. In addition to driving new sign-ups via traditional paid channels, the partnerships team aligns with third-parties across finance domains like credit bureaus, fintechs & affiliates. As a Sr Manager of Business Development heading External Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for leading and managing the network of partners. You’ll think strategically about how to mutually grow, identify key opportunities for optimizations, and collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts and product teams. This role will empower you to create and develop best practices surrounding Partnership onboarding and management. We’re looking for a Sr Manager who is passionate and energized by the opportunity for creative problem solving in order to meet our ambitious goals. Responsibilities: Lead & manage your partnership portfolio like a business through a growing team of junior associates: develop and execute growth strategies; track and monitor performance; and complete analysis to identify areas of risk and opportunity Understand the products and services offered by each partner, and create specific initiatives to support Capital One’s financial health products & experiences including CreditWise Uncover opportunities to improve commercial relationships; summarize and articulate to internal teams, and develop the strategic plan to execute, in collaboration with internal stakeholders Organize, schedule and conduct regular calls with each partner, and in-person business and product reviews Work with financial teams on forecast and revenue projections for partnerships Develop deep understanding for marketplace products and the personal finance landscape as a whole including emerging technologies & solutions their economic impact for both the partner and Capital One The successful candidate will: Maintain a positive attitude; creative and self-motivated and always striving to do your best Possess technology acumen and understanding of distribution dynamics to effectively communicate opportunities internally and externally Ability to craft and deliver compelling and data driven presentations Team mentality, desire to help the team win Excellent prioritization and time management skills with ability to distinguish urgent from important work An innovative and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving Passion for travel and technology Strong value-selling skills Executive-level business acumen Ability to navigate and succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience At least 6 years of Business Development, Partnerships, or Relationship Management experience At least 5 years experience in a customer-facing role in an organizational or entrepreneurial setting Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree/MBA 1 years experience with personal finance products or credit bureaus or financial health industry At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Mgr, Business Development New York, NY: $219,000 - $249,900 for Sr. Mgr, Business Development Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
