Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about store merchandise to boost sales and customer satisfaction
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits to meet customer needs and increase store revenue
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and merchandising products effectively
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and performing retail math calculations accurately
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash drawer handling is highly desirable
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and inventory management techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
