General Manager
Job Summary
The Floor Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and gracious service on the restaurant floor. This position supports both the front-of-house team and the management by overseeing daily service operations, maintaining brand standards, and delivering a refined guest experience. The ideal candidate embodies hospitality, leads by example, and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily service operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Lead pre-shift meetings and support staff throughout service
- Monitor floor flow and manage table turns and pacing in coordination with the kitchen
- Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure staff compliance with service standards, grooming, and policies
- Coach, mentor, and provide on-the-floor training to servers, hosts, and support staff
- Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, wine list, and specials to assist staff and guests
- Liaise between front-of-house and back-of-house to ensure seamless communication
- Support reservation management and guest seating strategies
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
- Proven ability to lead a team with professionalism and clarity
- Deep knowledge of food, wine, and service etiquette
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage service flow effectively
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
- Sommelier training or advanced wine knowledge
- Familiarity with POS and reservation platforms (e.g., Toast, Resy, OpenTable)
- Hospitality or culinary education
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
