Position Description:
A substitute paraeducator may work under the direction of a classroom teacher or site administrator for the purpose of providing assistance to students and or staff. Substitutes are responsible to maintain the care, welfare, safety, and security of all students at all times.
Pay: $16.66 - $23.75 per hour
Benefits:
- Sick Leave - Substitutes earn one (1) hour of sick leave for every Forty (40) hours worked in each district.
- Medical - Substitutes that work 630 or more hours for one district in a school year may earn medical benefits. Substitutes may need to pay a premium for their medical benefits.
Multiple Locations:
The Substitute Paraeducator positions are available at the following school districts:
Tumwater, Chehalis, Griffin, Hood Canal, Mary M Knight, Olympia, Olympic Academy, and Tenino.
Minimum Requirements:
- All applicants must provide a HS Diploma/Transcript OR GED Diploma/Transcript
- Applicants interested in working at Chehalis, Olympic Academy, and Tenino School Districts must have a HS Diploma AND a Passing score on the ETS Parapro Assessment Test, or;
- Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
- Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council
