LOCATION: Career & Technical Education - Albany Campus @ 886 Watervliet-Shaker Road
BASIC FUNCTION:
New Visions: Emerging Technologies program offers students a comprehensive introduction to two rapidly growing industries: hydrogen fuel cell technology and semiconductor manufacturing. Course is developed to meet the demands of these cutting-edge industries and equip students with the skills needed for entry-level technician roles or further education in these high demand fields.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide students hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in foundations of advanced manufacturing and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
- Program will cover introduction to semiconductor and hydrogen fuel cell industries; mechanical and electrical systems; hydrogen fuel cell systems; semiconductor manufacturing processes; and maintenance and troubleshooting.
- To be responsible for developing and evaluating course plans.
- To develop in each student an awareness and understanding coupled with the skills and knowledge in the industry.
- Instill in all students safe work habits, the importance of lifelong learning and a work ethic that fosters reliability, competence, dependability and satisfaction with their own work.
Job Qualifications
- Should possess valid NYS teaching certification in at least one of the following certification areas identified for this program.
- Mechanical Technology 7-12
- Electrical-Electronic Technology 7-12
- Electro-Mechanical Equipment Occupations (Repair and Installation) 7-12
- General Science 7-12
Candidates with issued certification are preferred. Candidates who meet the NYS teaching certification requirements for the listed Transitional A certifications will also be considered. The listed certifications can be found under Career & Technical Teacher>Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics or Manufacturing>Adolescent 7-12.
- Experience providing instruction a plus
- Industry credential or specialized training & experience in hydrogen fuel cell systems a plus.
- Candidates will have demonstrated the ability to provide sound instruction, ability to work in a team environment, work collaboratively with staff and administration.
- Possess good written and verbal skills.
