Description of Responsibilities: To perform general and specialized functions in preparing for and responding to emergency calls and in providing general support within the Police Department. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining readiness for emergency calls and taking proper action. 

Required Experience:

• Prefer 2 years law enforcement experience or professional security experience OR at least 60 college credits in a related field OR 2 years active-duty military experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
• DCJS Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation including fingerprint-based criminal history records inquiries to both the Central Criminal Records Exchange and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.  

Required Skills:

• Possess a working knowledge of law enforcement techniques, to perform criminal and traffic investigation.
• Ability to quickly analyze situations to determine the best course of action.
• Proficiency with firearms and other tools in a safe and skilled manner. 
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Ability to perform assigned work with a positive attitude, while exhibiting a professional manner.
