What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Plant Area Superintendent position at Capital Materials Llc?
The Asphalt Plant Area Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of asphalt plants, ensuring the production of quality products, and maintaining a safe working environment. The Superintendent will cover Southern MO at our Hollister and Ozark Plants.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and overseeing all maintenance-related activities.
- Mentoring plant operators and other plant staff
- Identifying and communicating Capex needs
- Forecasting, ordering, and price negotiation for spare parts inventory
- Coordinating the completion of complex repairs
- Sourcing subcontractors for specialized maintenance work
- Looking for new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity and cut costs.
- Keeping a maintenance program at each plant
- Meeting production budgets and managing/limiting downtime.
- Production scheduling
- Responsible for managing plant personnel as well as scheduling and monitoring time worked.
- Working alongside the Area PM to facilitate the paving schedule.
- Working alongside the Area PM to facilitate material flow.
- Ensuring each plant satisfies Capital safety protocol.
- Interview and select qualified applicants for Asphalt Plant open positions. Maintain appropriate staffing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in asphalt plant operations, heavy civil construction, or a related field
- 2-3 years of supervisor/management experience.
- Technical or mechanical repair experience with mobile crushers, asphalt hot plants, and screens.
- Strong computer skills.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen.
