Personal Care Assistant Needed – Supporting an 8-Year-Old Autistic BoyJob Summary
We are seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to an 8-year-old autistic boy. The ideal candidate will be patient, caring, dependable, and committed to helping the child with daily activities while providing companionship and a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with meal preparation and medication reminders (if needed)
- Perform light housekeeping related to the child's care
- Accompany the child to appointments and outings as needed
- Support daily routines and encourage positive engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in clinic, PICU, outpatient, geriatrics, hospital medicine, medical-surgical, teaching hospital, inpatient, or Level I Trauma Center settings is preferred
- Experience working with children, especially those with autism, is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
⏰ SCHEDULE (IMPORTANT)Monday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM (7 hours)Tuesday: 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM (5.5 hours)Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM (7 hours)Thursday: 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM (5.5 hours)Friday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM (7 hours)
Total Weekly Hours: 32 Hours
