What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent/Project Manager position at Capital Home Builders?
Construction Superintendent — Finish & Closeout
Capital Home Builders | Full-Time | Field-Based (Georgia & South Carolina)
About Capital Home Builders
Capital Home Builders is a residential construction company building quality new homes across Georgia and South Carolina. We take pride in delivering homes that are right the first time — and we are looking for a hands-on field superintendent who shares that standard.
The Role
We are hiring a Construction Superintendent to own the back half of our home builds — from trim through closing. You will be our eyes and ears in the field, making sure every home is built to spec, finished to a high standard, and ready to hand to the homeowner with pride. Our office team handles much of the scheduling; your job is to make sure it actually happens correctly on the ground.
You will typically manage 10–20 homes at once, prioritizing your time around where trim, finish, walkthrough, and closing activity is happening. This is a field role — you will spend your days on job sites, not behind a desk.
What You’ll Do
● Take the handoff at trim — meet trim crews on site with their work orders and get finish work moving.
● Run quality control on drywall, paint, trim, and finish work; catch defects and code issues before the homeowner ever sees them.
● Verify that every selection and upgrade the homeowner paid for is in the house and correct.
● Meet contractors on site, confirm they know what to install and where, and inspect their work before they leave.
● Confirm material deliveries are on site and accounted for.
● Take daily progress photos and submit daily logs in BuilderTrend.
● Walk each home for final drywall, paint, and cleaning — and bring the finish trades back in to make it perfect.
● Keep the office superintendent, punch-out crew, and General Manager of Construction informed on progress, crew bandwidth, and where resources are needed.
What We’re Looking For
● Residential construction experience, especially in finish/closeout phases (trim, paint, drywall, punch).
● A sharp eye for quality — you notice the things others walk past.
● Strong communication skills and the ability to hold contractors to a standard while keeping good working relationships.
● Comfort with technology — you can work confidently in a construction management app (we use BuilderTrend) on a phone, tablet, and computer.
● Highly organized, able to juggle many homes at once and prioritize what matters.
● A valid driver’s license and a clean, professional approach to representing the company with homeowners.
What We Provide
● Company vehicle
● Company gas card
● Company phone and computer
You will report to the General Manager of Construction.
