Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to promote health and hygiene.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress.
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and basic trimming to maintain coat health.
- Support veterinary staff by observing animal behavior, assisting with examinations, and handling animals during procedures.
- Engage in dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization among pets.
- Offer pet sitting services by supervising animals in their enclosures and responding promptly to their needs.
- Maintain detailed records of animal care routines, treatments, and behavioral observations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in animal handling, kennel operations, or veterinary assistance is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is preferred.
- Strong skills in pet grooming, pet sitting, and animal restraint are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with animals.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
