What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Staff - Camp Chingachgook position at Capital District YMCA?
Under the direction and supervision of the Head Chef and Food Service Supervisor this seasonal position assists in all aspects of the dining program at YMCA Camp Chingachgook during the summer camp season.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience in food service preparation and delivery preferred
- The ability and willingness to follow directions.
- Proficiency in using kitchen appliances and equipment is preferred.
- Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.
- The ability to articulate and model YMCA’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibilities are essential.
- Ability to ensure hygiene of kitchen area and tools, meeting all applicable state, county, and city regulations and policies.
- Assist with the food preparation and/or dining are clean-up for 3 meals a day for 450 participants.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility as a member of Clean Team.
- Report all accidents and incidents involving self, participants, guests, and other employees.
SUMMER SCHEDULE:
- Seasonal Full Time: 5-6 days weekly, 8-hour shifts, including weekends.
- Compensation: Dishwasher $16.00/hour meals while working
