Capital Distribution is a fast-growing e-commerce and live shopping company specializing in streetwear, sneakers, luxury fashion, and collectibles.
We are hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Inventory Picker, Packer & Put-Away Associate to join our team full-time at our Oceanside, NY warehouse.
This position is responsible for accurately picking customer orders, packing shipments, and putting inventory back into the proper warehouse areas. Inventory may include new deliveries, customer returns, canceled orders, unsold live-stream products, and merchandise that was pulled but not sold.
Our warehouse contains a large variety of brands, products, styles, colors, sizes, and SKUs. Many items can look extremely similar while still being different products. Some inventory has assigned locations, while other products may require the employee to use product names, SKU information, images, spreadsheets, and knowledge of the warehouse to locate or identify the correct item.
This role requires strong reading comprehension, visual identification skills, organization, and accuracy. Employees must be comfortable carefully comparing product details and using basic computer systems without guessing.
Responsibilities
- Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Confirm the exact product, SKU, size, color, quantity, and variation before packing
- Read and follow product names, SKUs, labels, order details, and inventory instructions
- Use product images and visual details to distinguish between similar-looking items
- Pack and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Put away new inventory received into the warehouse
- Return unsold live-stream inventory to the appropriate warehouse area
- Put away customer returns, canceled orders, and previously pulled merchandise
- Organize products into bins, shelves, racks, and designated storage areas
- Learn product names, brands, styles, and common warehouse locations
- Help locate inventory that may not yet have a formally assigned location
- Update or reference basic inventory information using Excel or Google Sheets
- Verify quantities and complete basic inventory counts
- Label, sort, and prepare products for storage or fulfillment
- Maintain clean, organized, and accurate picking, packing, and storage areas
- Report inventory discrepancies, missing products, or mismatched SKUs immediately
- Assist with general warehouse and fulfillment operations when needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
THE FOLLOWING ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE:
- Strong reading comprehension
- Strong visual identification and comparison skills
- Ability to notice small differences between similar products
- Ability to carefully follow SKUs, sizes, colors, product names, images, and written instructions
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Ability to open, read, search, and enter basic information into a spreadsheet
- Basic math skills, including counting, quantities, and simple addition and subtraction
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Strong punctuality, attendance, and reliability
- Ability to learn product names and warehouse locations
- Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy
- Ability to remain organized while handling multiple orders or tasks
- Willingness to double-check information and ask questions rather than guess
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain active and on your feet throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Strong Plus
- Previous inventory picking, packing, put-away, shipping, or fulfillment experience
- Experience working with a large number of products or SKUs
- Experience with sneakers, streetwear, clothing, luxury products, or collectibles
- Experience with Shopify, ShipStation, warehouse systems, or shipping platforms
- Familiarity with barcode scanners, inventory bins, shelving systems, or warehouse locations
- Previous e-commerce or live-commerce warehouse experience
Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position
- Monday through Friday availability required
- Additional availability during busy and holiday periods is a strong plus
Pay: $18.00 - $23.50 per hour
