What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Strategist position at Capital Department?
Company Overview
Do you want to help entrepreneurs raise millions of dollars to scale what could be the next unicorn? Then join us at Capital Department, a start-up fundraising firm that helps founders raise capital from retail investors.
Capital Department is on a mission to increase access to capital for all. We’ve helped innovative startups raise $225M and we are growing at record speed! To support our growth, we’re seeking an exceptional candidate to join as a Content Strategist
Role Overview
We’re looking for a data-driven, dynamic, and creative Content Strategist to own content that fuels investor acquisition and conversion. You’ll be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing multi-channel campaigns and assets that attract qualified leads and drive them to take action, ultimately increasing investment volume for our fundraising rounds.
Just as public companies sell shares to retail investors online, you’ll help private start-ups do the same — designing and optimizing funnels that turn interested prospects into committed investors.
This role is ideal for a storyteller and growth marketing professional with a proven track record of:
- Leading the ideation, strategy, development, and deployment of content across multiple channels
- Building full-funnel email campaigns from the ground up, including drafting and editing copy as well as setting up flows in an email service provider
- Optimizing performance in real-time through data analysis and A/B testing
- Writing compelling, high converting updates for investors and prospective investors
- Collaborating directly with cross-functional teams to craft compelling business narratives that convert
As a major bonus, you’ll be joining an ambitious, inclusive, and engaging team that has experience working with VC-backed technology companies and Fortune 500 companies. We’re graduates of Cornell, Oxford, and UCLA, and our work has been featured in Forbes, PBS, The New York Times, The Financial Times, and Fast Company.
We’re experiencing explosive growth - come be part of our journey! 🚀

- Lead email marketing strategy and execution. Manage email flows in email service providers (MailChimp, Klaviyo) segment audiences, and test and refine messaging to maximize conversion.
- Manage analytics and reporting. Track campaign performance, analyze funnel data, and report on key metrics to inform real-time optimization and strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with founders, deal teams, and creatives to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all touchpoints
- Conduct A/B testing and experimentation. Run structured experiments to improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates
