Role Description The General Dentist (DDS/DMD) will provide comprehensive dental care to patients in an on-site clinical setting in Albany, NY. This full-time role includes performing examinations, diagnosing oral health conditions, developing treatment plans, and delivering preventive, restorative, and basic surgical dental procedures. Responsibilities include administering local anesthesia, performing fillings, extractions, crowns, and other indicated treatments, and coordinating care with hygienists and dental assistants. The dentist will educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, review and update records and treatment notes, and ensure adherence to infection control, safety standards, and practice policies. Collaboration with practice leadership on workflow, scheduling, and quality initiatives is also expected.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school
- Active New York State dental license (or eligibility to obtain) and current DEA registration
- Clinical proficiency in examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, and routine oral surgery
- Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain treatment options and obtain informed consent
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, infection control, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work effectively with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff in a team-based environment
- Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification required; additional certifications (e.g., nitrous oxide, moderate sedation) are a plus
- Prior experience in a general practice setting is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
