Duties
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and effective communication skills.
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist customers with retail sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, ensuring accurate cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
- Upsell complementary products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a customer-first approach.
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and ensuring product availability aligns with store standards.
- Handle retail store product knowledge confidently to answer customer inquiries about features, specifications, and compatibility.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries, providing clear information and support.
- Support cashiering duties including cash drawer handling, retail math calculations, and processing retail sales transactions efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and store policies during all customer interactions and operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales or grocery store environments with familiarity in POS systems and cash register operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership capabilities in a retail setting.
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and cash handling procedures.
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management to maintain an attractive sales floor.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally over the phone or online.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for retail transactions.
- Prior experience in grocery stores or familiarity with grocery products is advantageous but not required.
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude and proactive approach to upselling opportunities.
