Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team in supporting youth within our emergency shelter. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care, supervision, and guidance to high-risk populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and other behavioral health conditions. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe, supportive environment where youth can thrive and develop essential life skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with youth in a residential program, ensuring safety and adherence to program policies.
- Implement behavioral health strategies and behavior management techniques to support positive development.
- Conduct intake assessments and maintain accurate documentation of client progress.
- Provide crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques to manage high-risk situations effectively.
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols while maintaining resident confidentiality at all times.
- Work with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations to ensure respectful, inclusive support tailored to individual needs.
Qualifications
- Strong background in childcare, social work, behavioral health, or related fields
- Knowledge of conflict management, de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and behavioral health practices.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to work effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
