Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide our prospective & current clients with an exemplary experience through exceptional service and top-tier industry knowledge. Our Business Development Financial Advisors, serving as the external face of the firm, build strong relationships and establish trust with prospective clients. Through meaningful conversation, this role uncovers desires, needs, worries, and goals of prospective clients. Business Development Financial Advisors then collaborate with Lead Financial Advisors & the Financial Planning Team to develop & implement customized financial strategies that exceed client expectations. By converting prospective clients into clients, Business Development Financial Advisors are critical to ensuring the firm can execute its mission.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Convert prospective clients, sourced by the Marketing Department, into clients
- Uncover and fully understand the desires and needs of prospective clients through intentional conversations
- Follow the established 5-step sales process to ensure a consistent, exemplary experience is provided
- Expand, manage, and retain strong prospective and client relationships
- Assist in the design of each customized financial strategy
- Transition clients to Lead Financial Advisor for the implementation of financial strategy
You are perfect for this role if you have:

- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, Economics, or related major preferred)
- 3 years of experience in the financial industry, advising experience preferred
- Sales experience preferred
- Series 65 license
- SC Life and Health Insurance License and/or Series 6/7
- Superior organizational, interpersonal, & time management skills
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Experience with Redtail/CRM preferred

Compensation includes a competitive salary with benefits (insurance, 401k with match, disability, paid volunteer time, profit sharing) and covered advisor fees (state registration fees, technology, E&O).
The starting base salary for this role will be $60,000- $80,000 (OTE $100,000- $180,000).
