Banquet Chef Qualifications
- Education/Training: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred; food safety and sanitation certification required
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive kitchen experience, including supervisory or lead cook roles
- Previous experience in high-volume banquets, catering, or hotel/resort kitchens strongly preferred
- Culinary Skills:
- Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and large-scale food production
- Strong knowledge of international and regional cuisines, buffet and plated service styles
- Ability to maintain consistency, flavor, and presentation across high-volume events
- Leadership & Management:
- Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Skilled in scheduling, inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Other Requirements:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with front-of-house and event staff
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet schedules
