The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in achieving this mission. They provide quality nursing care through the nursing process, patient and family education, and thorough documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As an RN, you'll be responsible for supervising LPNs, CNAs, Unit Secretaries, and Volunteers to ensure seamless care delivery and maintain a safe working environment.
Experience Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have at least one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting or unit. Hospice and/or palliative care experience is highly valued but not required.
Education Requirements
You must hold a Diploma or Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Required Certificates And/Licenses
A valid license from the governing body for practice in the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, or Commonwealth of Virginia is mandatory, as well as Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) certification to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Quality Provision of Services
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients through the initiation and maintenance of the nursing process.
- Deliver patient and family education to ensure optimal care and reduced anxiety levels.
- Document assessments, plan of care, and other relevant information in a timely and accurate manner.
Organizational/Regulatory Compliance
- Support applicable staff with procedures as needed and maintain a sterile environment when necessary.
- Ensure proper disposal of procedural instrumentation and follow policy guidelines.
People/Communications
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized patient plans of care and facilitate communication among team members.
- Provide direction, supervision, and training to LPNs, CNAs, Unit Secretaries, and Volunteers to maintain quality care and a safe working environment.
