Responsibilities
- Perform phone triage for patients with cardiovascular symptoms, answering questions and providing clinical guidance.
- Evaluate patient symptoms, medical history, and concerns to determine the need for further intervention, appointments, or urgent care.
- Provide education to patients on cardiology conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventative care.
- Document patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
- Work collaboratively with cardiologists and the healthcare team to ensure patients receive the best care possible.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, offering guidance and comfort when needed.
- Assist in coordinating follow-up care and appointments for patients as needed.
- Current Registered Nurse license in NYS
- A year of previous experience in cardiology or phone triage nursing strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide empathetic and clear guidance over the phone.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage urgent situations calmly.
- Monday through Friday schedule.
