Role Description The Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent/Foreman is a full-time, on-site role located in Tallahassee, FL. This position oversees daily field operations on paving, earthwork, concrete, drainage, and heavy highway projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating crews and subcontractors, organizing equipment and materials, interpreting plans and specifications, and communicating with project managers and inspectors. The role also involves monitoring project progress, tracking quantities, assisting with budget and cost control, and enforcing safety policies and procedures. The Superintendent/Foreman will provide direction and coaching to crew members, address site issues, and help maintain a professional and productive jobsite.
Qualifications
- Strong construction site management skills, including supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and managing daily field operations.
- Solid understanding of construction safety practices, OSHA requirements, and the ability to enforce safety policies on active jobsites.
- Effective organization skills to manage schedules, materials, equipment, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with budgeting and project management, including tracking costs, quantities, and progress to meet project goals.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and DOT standards for heavy civil projects.
- Proficient communication skills for working with crew members, project managers, inspectors, and clients.
- Hands-on experience in heavy civil construction (paving, earthwork, concrete, or drainage) in a supervisory or lead role.
