Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM Cognos Analytics 11 Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust BI solutions that transform data into actionable insights. This role demands strong analytical capabilities, expertise in data modeling, and a deep understanding of Cognos reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Analysis & Data Modeling

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand BI requirements.
• Design and implement data models using Framework Manager and Data Modules.

1. Dashboard & Report Development

• Create interactive dashboards and visual reports using Cognos Dashboards.
• Develop reports using charts, lists, cross-tabs, maps, and integrate them into comprehensive dashboards.

1. KPI & Metrics Tracking

• Identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with business goals.
• Develop reports to monitor performance metrics effectively.

1. Data Analysis & Decision Support

• Analyze complex datasets and present findings to support strategic and operational decisions.

1. Technical Specification & Planning

• Translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Estimate development timelines and plan deliverables.

1. Modeling & Security

• Build and publish packages in Framework Manager and Data Modules.
• Implement security protocols and develop reports based on secure packages.

1. Advanced Reporting Techniques

• Use macros, prompts, filters, and calculations for dynamic reporting.
• Implement advanced features like drill-throughs, master-detail relationships, bookmarks, and page sets.

1. Data Warehouse & ETL Analysis

• Contribute to data warehouse design and enhancement.
• Analyze and improve existing ETL processes.

1. SQL & Performance Tuning

• Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Enhance report performance through tuning techniques.

1. System Enhancements

• Implement technical upgrades and changes to improve BI system functionality.

1. Database Knowledge

• Apply principles of relational and multidimensional database design in BI development.

1. Cognos-Specific Expertise

• Demonstrate hands-on experience with Cognos Analytics 11, including Data Modules and Dashboarding features.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in Cognos BI development.
• Strong proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics 11, Framework Manager, and SQL.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other BI tools and platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-based BI solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
