Capers Bistro restaurant and bar inside the Portland International Airport is looking for a PIC (person in charge). Friday-Monday opening shift (early mornings 3am).
The PIC position is responsible for knowing all of the positions of the Front of the House, and directing daily operations on the floor. PIC will supervise the quality, cleanliness and upkeep of the dining area(s) and guest contact area(s). Train all new hires, supervise the FOH staff and the needs of the individual shifts, while helping to ensure dining guests are served in a manner that meets and exceeds the standards set by Capers Bistro. We are looking for a reliable, punctual, friendly, team player type to join our team! The AM PIC shift starts at 3am, opens the restaurant every day and runs FOH daily operations. Duties include, ringing up guests, stocking, cleaning, delegating tasks, and more. PIC will work with BOH upholding food safety and quality standards, and ensure guests receive outstanding customer service. Must have a current OLCC permit.
This job requires an airport security badge, must pass 10 year background check to obtain.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and review all cash drops, paperwork, and shift reports
- Transporting, depositing, and recording cash drops into the safe for accounting
- Elevated permissions in POS systems for ticket corrections and other tasks
- Accurately audit tip pay outs for the day
- Delegate lunches and breaks periods
- Review schedules and change employees roles to meet the needs of the business
- Use POS system to ring tickets
- Responsible for cash register
- Work cash register for the grab and go section
- Run food to tables
- Understand house abbreviations salad selection, as well as grab and go items
- Stocking paper goods, food items, sandwich line, espresso counter, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
