Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Communications Support:
    • Develop and maintain clear communication strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company goals.
    • Draft internal communications such as newsletters, bulletins, and other announcements.
    • Collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure consistent messaging for employee engagement and morale.
  • External Communications Support:
    • Work closely with media analysts to track and monitor media coverage, ensuring that Capella's brand is represented positively.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with national and local media outlets to secure coverage of Capella's initiatives, projects, and milestones.
    • Draft press releases, media kits, and other external communications materials.
    • Coordinate media interviews and press events.
  • Press and Media Relations:
    • Act as a liaison between Capella and the media, ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
    • Help pitch story ideas and press releases to journalists to enhance brand visibility.
    • Maintain an updated media contact list and monitor media trends and industry developments.
Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or media relations.
    • Proven track record of writing and distributing press releases and media materials.
    • Experience in working with media analysts and understanding media trends.
    • Background in aerospace is a bonus, but not a requirement.
    • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.   • Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in messaging.
    • Ability to build relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, media monitoring tools, and social media platforms.
Compensation

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $80,914 - $107,211. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
