This job is primarily customer service and cleaning. We are a locally owned independent grocery store in South Eugene, with a focus on excellent quality, local ingredients and a friendly atmosphere.
Capella Market is hiring
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts and preparation methods.
- Prepare and trim meats, applying proper butchery methods to meet customer specifications.
- Operate food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work area.
- Package meat products efficiently while maintaining visual quality control standards.
- Handle perishable goods carefully, managing inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment following food safety management protocols.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse shoppers.
- Prior experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments a plus.
- Strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and safe food handling practices.
- Basic math skills for accurate portioning, weighing, and inventory management.
