Position: Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Director of Finance
Position Overview:
These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
- Count drops, reconciles to the EOD financial reports and prepares bank deposits for all Cape May Hotels
- Responsible for following up with Staff and Managers on daily drop differencesand reconciliations.
- Prepares weekly change order and replenishes banks on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for cash reconciliation of all Banks on Hand and petty cash.
- During the offseason will assist Accounts Payable Supervisor with the following AP duties: pulling invoice backup for check run, attach check stubs to corresponding invoices, filing and preparing checks for mail.
- Pulls back up and responds to all credit card disputes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel & be able to use 10 key calculator.
- Experience with M3 Accounting Core, Aloha, Clover, and Maestro a plus.
- Must be able to count large amounts of cash with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office hotel setting which include multi-tasking demands while working in a self-directed role.
- Must have access to transportation throughout the day.
- May involve standing for extended periods and lifting heavy bags of coins or cash.
- May require lifting for up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, Associates Degree minimum desired
- Prior experience working with cash preferable
- Basis accounting knowledge desirable, with Accounts Payable experience
