Responsibilities
- Supervise dogs during play sessions, ensuring safe interactions and preventing conflicts through attentive animal handling and restraint techniques
- Assist with dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization skills
- Monitor dogs’ health and behavior, alerting supervisors to any concerns or signs of distress
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including pet grooming areas, kennels, and play zones to ensure a hygienic environment
- Provide pet sitting services when needed, including feeding, walking, and administering medication under supervision
- Engage with pet owners to communicate updates
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as assisting with larger dogs safely and efficiently
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet sitting environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a strong asset
- Hands-on experience with pet grooming, animal handling, and restraint methods is desirable
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Background in veterinary assistant work or veterinary technician experience is advantageous but not required
