What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Coordinator position at Cape Leisure Corporation?
The Human Resources Coordinator supports HR operations for multiple Cape Leisure field units. Working with our Paylocity payroll software, the successful candidate will input employment changes, additions and deletions requested by field managers. The Human Resources Coordinator also processes worker compensation claims, supports employee benefit programs, prepares weekly payroll reports, schedules employee training programs and more.

Cape Leisure is a growing Cape Canaveral, Florida-based outdoor recreation management company specializing in concession operations within state and national parks. We manage food, retail, lodging, recreational rentals, special events and interpretive services within iconic Florida outdoor destinations such as Silver Springs, Florida Caverns and Ichetucknee Springs State Parks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage employee data entry, updates and record maintenance within our Paylocity payroll system and other digital filing systems.
- Assist with administering employee benefits programs.
- Oversee worker compensation record keeping and reporting.
- Collaborate with field management to ensure accurate employee classification and attendance/PTO tracking.
- Manage unemployment claims and garnishments.
- Schedule ongoing and annual employee training programs such as those for first aid/CPR, guest service, livery driver safety, and interpretive guide/ paddling certifications.
- Administer Cape Leisure’s drug screening and background check programs.
- Assist with payroll audits and governmental reporting.
- Produce and analyze regular weekly and special custom payroll reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Share clerical office duties such as answering phones, processing mail and maintaining office supplies.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
- At least an associate’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least two years’ experience working in the human resources field.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to produce accurate work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and carry for short distances.
